Folie a Trois are artists lili Spain and Sarah Grainger-Jones. They were Directors of the Red Velvet Curtain Cult, a series of events featuring live art, music, film and fine art working with high profile venues including Whitechapel Art Gallery, Milton Keynes Gallery, Benjamin Franklin House and De La Warr Pavilion. As performance art duo, Folie a Trois they work with live art and intervention to create surreal, macabre and absurd performances using found objects and ephemera. They reference mythology, fairy tales, surrealism and psychology. Folie à Trois literally means "a madness shared by three" and is a rare psychiatric syndrome in which a symptom of psychosis, particularly a paranoid or delusional belief, is transmitted from one individual to another.
